  • I'm reading daily the posts in hookahforum.com. I didn't make an account there. Not yet. Would be nice, if we could gain some of their members to come and watch our forum. Maybe some would post regularly.
If you read what they post you can see, that there are some differences in smoking hookah than here in Germany. For example the buzz plays a big roll there. It is always rated in their review. Here we try to avoid buzz and tobacco that is too strong is more or less disliked.

  • Hey Pinky,
i do not really know, what you mean with the word "buzz". I have looked it up at dict.leo.org but i can't find a possible translation exept of "Begeisterung". But what do you mean with this word.
Maybe my english is not as good as yours, but I hope you will expain it to others and me.

Now a little bit about hookahforum.com:
Some posts are very hard to read. Ok with my 6 years school englisch.
But can you (all) read this posts fluently without looking into an dictionary?
I'd like to train my english, because of going to the USA when I have my degree (Abitur).

Ok, let's keep this thing rolling,

  • Buzz means the "flash" or the "kick" you get from some sorts of tobacco. Like getting dizzy or lightheaded.
For example Tangiers is a strong kind of tobacco which can infect you in such a way. Germans don't like it and figure out setups like the "Teelicht-Setup" to avoid it. They also choose brands like Al Fakher which are very light and smooth, so they don't produce a buzz at all.

Reading Hookahforum isn't quiet easy. You have to read very often to understand their slang. I spent some time in America and speaking was no problem at all. Nobody there can really speak English. Like nobody speaks real German in Bayern or in a small village. But you allways find a way to have a conversation.

  • Thats right,
yesterday a friend and her husband from the USA came for vacations to germany and so they visited us.
I liked speaking to an American it is a different way of understanding than speaking to an English man.
You do not need much vocabularies to talk to an American, as I thought a few days earlier.
The best you can do is having a conversation with an American - but don't even try to speak to an Texanic, you will not understand him!
    (thats my memory ;) )
    Ok,
    no have a sleep

tomorrow is a new day and I have to smoke a "good-night-hookah"

    bye, hanni

    Pinky: Thanks for your explanation

  • Oi guys

I love the idea of having an english thread. It's quite nice and people can practice their english. It's weird but you tend to forget when you don't use it often.

Anyways...I'm so tired but I'm too lazy to go to bed...it's 1am over here..yawn. Thank God it's week-end. Just finished my shisha and now I'm bored. There's nothing on telly either...honest 400 channels and nothing on. How sad is that?

Hm..maybe I should prepare another shisha...tomorrow is Sunday..yipieh..1 day away from Monday..uah. Monday=work...yuuuuuk. Can't wait for my holiday. 2 weeks off. Fantastic.

Anyways, you guys. TTYL..and have a good night, day..whatever..LOL

Cheers from the freaking cold and rainy London
