come on, it's not that bad. in fact, working as a 'Zivildienstleistender' was probably one of the most valueable experiences in my life. (yet)

so if you're trying to ditch the armed forces, do it honestly. there's nothing wrong in doing a community service job for some months, it may even be fun ! (if you're in the right place... )
and you gain time to decide what you're going to do with your life; whether to study or becoming an apprentice or whatever..

that examination was a quite funny thing for me; there's that soldier whose single job is to convince you to join the armed forces - i felt kinda sorry for him - always trying to convince strangers how cool it is to be an soldier. (perfect bullshit, imho)

and are there really people who don't know whether they should or should not join when they turn up at that examination ?

i'm wondering about sth. else: why is it a 'duty' for male germans, but a 'right' for females ?

and, yea, it's important to be on the right place, i guess to be placed in "bückeburg" with only men can't be much fun

when i have my "musterungstermin" i'll try to become "ausgemustert" and then, i gonna work for a half year and then, the other half, i'll go to australia, backpacking

after that year i begin to study.. maybe ..

did you know that it's possible to do your 'zivildienst' outside germany ?

of course there's only a few places to go, but only a few people now about it, so the chances arent't that bad. a friend of mine went to monaco for example, needless to say he had a good time...

A good friend of mine, I recently met, was just talking with me right about that. His possibilities of accomplishing his alternative civilian service abroad was either Isreal, in a Kibuzz, what, because of the current political situation in Middle East, seemed not to be the perfectly funny and save idea or either in a almost fundamentalist catholic facility.
I do not know if there are any differences between all the civilian service deapartements or if the jobs abroad are centrally managed.
Anyway, I was legally exempted from military service without any attestations and so on.

I almost tried just to type some imaginary web-adresses, and searching by google, but didn't find anything.
There must be any way to get some more people in here, and I don't think about the german guys that already write in this board...
By the way I've been "Zivildienstleistender" and if you have a good place to work it's really funny, and most of the time kinda leisure.
However, rock on guys...

My eyes are toooooooo baaaaaad That says the paper from 1997
The one which was made in 2005 would say that my eyes are good enough, but I didn`t show this one! I have contact linses and gave them the "Brillenpass" of 1997 and they believed meeeee...
SO, what should I say? I´m ahem very lucky....
And one tip: It doesn´t matter if you give them attestations from your normal doctor... The guys from the armed forces don´t believe them and are very unfriendly if you ask questions why they don´t consider these attestations...

Jews of the third generation after World War II don´t have to do that here in Germany.
