Need help buying a German hookah

  • Hey, I want to buy a hookah but it seems like all the info and videos are in German. I'm looking to spend around 100 euro but willing to go around 150 if it will mean much better quality. I'm complete beginner and I'm completely lost :D

I've been looking mainly Amy's but i'd love a bit of input which one to get. The stainless steel one looks much better but it says it doesn't have "click system with chambers?"
    Starfox
SS13 (or maybe upgrade to SS09 if it's better)

Can anyone explain me Amy hookahs ... what is good, what to avoid, what this chamber system means. Or any general advice and recommendation about what I should get for around 100 euro :))

  • Hello hhasmak,

there are several german hookah brands. As Alibaba said "MIG" for example. Further more there is Ocean Hookah, Aryf, THS, Nautiluz, etc.
The difference between many hookah companys is, that some produce the shishas in Germany and others are only german companies, which are producing for example in China (Dschinni for example).

I would recommend a THS Genesis. Ist stainless steal, looks great and has some fine features

  • Hi,

if you are seraching for something special, there is the Aljamal Hookah, leaned on a traditional hookah in modern design.
The support is very nice and there are some people in the US (are you from America?) and France, who also have that hookah, so the shipping should be no problem.
The price is high but it is a really nice pipe with awesome support.
    I got two, too

  • Hi hhasmak,

As already stated by the others, Amy is just a German brand, the hookahs aren't made there. Nevertheless they are solid performers. And you can
get a total package at an attractive pricepoint, especially if you keep your eyes peeled for some good offers.... 20% off the list price is almost always possible.

Other big German brands to take a look at are Kaya and Dschinni Hookahs.. Also not made in Germany, but they have about the same -decent- quality level
    as the Amy Pipes.

If you want a real quality German made hookah at an attractive pricepoint, take a look at this: Genesis Shisha 450 online kaufen | Smoking-Shisha.de
I am afraid though it wont get cheaper than that.

What Amy hookah to choose? The one you like the best. They are all decent smokers....
That being said... Most Amys are made of coated brass (unless specified otherwise in the product description).
Personally i wouldn't drop 100 euro for a pipe made out of this material, since you can already get a stainless steel or aluminum hookah for that price (like the little stick you linked to).
I'd not pay more than 60 for a brass Amy, i'd say... but, they do work fine.

Btw.. i wouldn't be too concerned about the chamber system. It has very little impact on the smoking experience. Mainly pipes with closed chamber (or Amy's proprietary chamber design) allow you to
clear the base completely when using the purge valve, while there remains a little smoke in the base with the open-chamber-pipes.
