Lamar shallow bowl vs KS shallow bowl

Hello shisha-forum

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask as I don't speak german.

I'm looking to buy one of these bowls to use, if I get a nice deal, with kaloud lotus.
Which one of them fits best with the lotus as I want to save shisha. A 1-2 hours session is enough for me. From my info both of them are made of clay.
It needs to be shallow enough to take little shisha but not that shallow so it touches the lotus.

Thanks. :)

Hi and welcome :)
So, although i didn't find a ks shallow bowl, it probably shouldn't matter, they're both copies of the HookahJohn Alien Funnel and thus should fit the kaloud just fine. But if you don't want your kaloud to touch your shisha, you should consider buying a kaloud because it's made for touching the shisha in the (at least in Germany) so-called 'overpacking-setup' (which looks somewhat like on These pictures, it might look like you need a big load of shisha, but it's just about 10-15grams.) it really enhances the flavor and smoke and with the kaloud it takes no effort to set up a good bowl. If this looks to difficult or you're not ready to use this much shisha, I recommend staying with a normal chinahead, because it's easier to handle than a funnel (at least for me ;))

Thanks :D

This is the other bowl.
I always overpack my bowls with nakhla but the flip bowl I currently have takes way too much shisha.
Having the lotus touching the shisha makes for another part to be cleaned and it doesn't look like a quick job. That's what I'm looking to avoid.

So between those which will suit better?

If I had to pick, I'd take the Lamar shallow bowl. Btw: You don't really have to clean the lotus, just scratch of the shisha which sticks of it, if there's some burnt onto the Lotus, just leave it, it won't Affekt the taste. For me, it normally Takes about a Minute to clean the kaloud, which is pretty okay i guess :)

Ok then, I'll go for the lamar. Does it smoke the same as the Lamar Tradi ? I don't mind having a smaller hookah. :)

Also due to lack of space I was thinking to sell my Mya QT and buy a Petite. It's worth it or not? I've heard it's a downgrade but not from people who smoked both of them. Still confused. :D

Yeah, the tradi bowl is a little smaller than the shallow bowl, but it should work just fine :)

The petite is smaller and that's about it. Maybe the draw won't be as smooth but since I've never smoked with a QT i can't really tell if there's a difference. Anyways, the quality of the smoke is mostly determined by your packing technique, as long as you don't f*ck this up, you'll be okay :D
BTW: there's a button below every post which says 'Bedanken' on it. Feel free to use it, it's somewhat like a 'like' button ;)

Ok but I hope you didn't reply just to get likes. :D

I'm sticking to my QT for a while.

Also due to differences in shallowness through lamar shallow bowl samples and my belief that the lotus should not touch the shisha I was thinking if lamar pleasure bowl will not fit better for shorter sessions than the shallow or tradi bowl.

I had both, the tradi- and the shallow bowl (but not the lotus).
If you dont want the lotus to touch the shisha (in germany "shisha" means hokaah, not "tobacco" :D ),
i doubt neither tradi nor shallow will work for you!

For the lotus i would prefer the pleasure bowl (or check out the saphire power bowl rt)

Well, the Shalow Bowl is designed for overpacking less moist tobaccos. Also it is too shallow for a simple build with the lotus. The bowls wizard mentioned, are more comfortabe to build, so i also woult prefer these.

The pleasure bowl holds up just a little more tobacco, compared to the shallow one. (+3-5g)

And, i think, the lotus can touch the tobacco. Or at least, my one does that like always. ^^

Thanks, I'll definitely order the pleasure bowl then. I just hope all of the lotus' vents will fit inside the bowl as it it smaller in diameter.
Also can the pleasure bowl be packed for short sessions as well as for longer sessions with more tobacco (loose pack) without touching the lotus or should I also order the SK milano for this?

The pleasure bowl is not really made for smoking longer than, maybe, 90 minutes, but that would be a dense packing... If you expect about 2 hours or more, the milano should work better.

The vents of the lotus also work on the pleasure bowl. The venting is about 1mm inside of the bowls rim.

But i can not say that much about the milano, though i do not own that bowl.

This is so hard to choose. If it were for me I would buy at least 3 bowls. But my monthly student budget doesn't agree. :D

I'm about to order either the milano or the pleasure and for short sessions between classes the Lamar Paco instead of shallow/tradi.

I'm not sure because right now I'm smoking nakhla (regular) mandarin loose pack in a small chinese phunnel (5g) and after 30 mins it's still going. I think the milano will be way too big but I might as well order it later this evening.

Right now I'm looking for some info about how much does the milano hold. The pleasure I understand it holds about 20g tight packed.

Not bad. :D

Looks nice, the third one is the Paco Bowl?

Well, be a bit careful with nakhla, i did not tested with the Lotus, but i can be a bit tricky due to big phunnel-hole. But anyways, they are mostly good bowls.

yep, it's the Paco. :)

I've just packed the Pleasure with nakhla lemon tangiers style to the rim and the lotus just touching the shisha/tobacco. 2 cocobricos/cocowissams and nice flavour and clouds. Will see how much it lasts. It took around 17-18g.
